Washington St Sewer Rehab

Rachel Stone

Crews will close the center section of Washington Street NE beginning on Monday, April 13, 2026, for a sewer rehabilitation project. The sewer line needs repair so crews will use a “pipe burst” method to renew the pipe. This method limits excavations and disruption to the roadway by using manholes to access the pipe.

The target completion date is May 1, but as with all construction projects this timetable is subject to change. Regular work hours will be Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Crews may work outside of these hours if necessary. (All work is weather permitting and subject to change without notice)

How will this improvement project impact you?

  • Access to residences will be maintained throughout the project. Always drive through the work zone slowly and use caution. If you have any questions or concerns about access, please talk with the construction crew on site or one of the contacts listed below.
  • For trash pick-up days, place your trash bin in its usual spot. The City of Albuquerque has been notified of this construction and the crews will accommodate the solid waste truck on trash days.
  • It is not expected that water or sewer service will be interrupted during the project.
