JUNE 28 - JULY 2: MONTGOMERY BRIDGE DEMOLITION  & NIGHTLY ROAD CLOSURES

Crews are making progress on the Montgomery Blvd bridge reconstruction and will be demolishing the existing Montgomery Blvd bridge over I-25 as early as June 28, 2026, for five nights. This work will require significant overnight closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night:

  • Northbound and southbound I-25 from the Montgomery Blvd off-ramps to the Montgomery Blvd on-ramps. I-25 traffic will be detoured onto the Pan American Frontage Rd at the Montgomery Blvd off-ramps, over Montgomery Blvd, and back onto the freeway via the Montgomery Blvd on-ramps.

  • Eastbound and westbound Montgomery Blvd will be closed between Culture Dr and northbound Pan American Frontage Rd. Traffic will be detoured to Comanche Rd through Carlisle Blvd and Jefferson St on the east side of I-25 and Culture Dr and Edith Blvd on the west side of I-25.

Drivers should anticipate heavy travel delays, plan ahead, and follow posted signage overnight.

The map below shows of the details relevant to this period of time.

This is a map showing planned closure of I-25 in both directions at Montgomery Blvd in Albuquerque, NM. The map shows detour options for traffic on both I-25 and Montgomery Blvd.

These construction activities will increase overnight noise, vibration, dust, and lighting for nearby properties.
